The Baja experience ~ natural beauty, authentic culture and limitless adventure

baja preserve beachWelcome

There is a treasured stretch of the Baja la Paz Peninsula enshrouded in its own blissful state of tranquility. It is a 13,000-acre sweep of untouched beauty along the shimmering Pacific, 10,000 acres of which will be preserved in perpetuity.  This is Mexico in its original luster. This is Baja far off the beaten path. This is the untouched luxury of The Preserve at La Ballena.

The mere act of being in this authentic and self—contained residential paradise—of drawing in its pure tropical air, of exploring its vast and wild terrain, of enjoying its wealth of indulgences, of witnessing its migrating whales frolic in untamed Pacific waters—is to happily lose all thought and sight of the rest of civilization. For this is Mexico in its original luster. This is Baja far off the beaten path. This is the untouched luxury of The Preserve at La Ballena.

Overview

Our Vision

When we first met more than five years ago, we shared a common vision. That vision was to meet the desires of North Americans who were searching for a Baja experience that provided natural beauty, authentic culture and limitless adventure. Soon after, by good fortune, we found the extraordinary sweep of coastal Baja la Paz property that would enable us to fulfill our vision. Given the land's pristine nature, we both felt a profound sense of duty to act as responsible stewards and preserve to the best of our ability the beautiful land holding known as La Ballena.

In the beginning it became almost immediately apparent that our biggest asset was the land itself—all 13,200 acres of it. It was then that we decided to set aside 10,000+ acres to be preserved in it natural state. Our goal then, as it is today, is to offer families a place where they can connect with nature and take part in the truly meaningful experiences that often allude us in the over-prescribed, scripted world in which we live.

We are firmly committed to developing The Preserve at La Ballena in an environmentally sustainable manner. Not for publicity, not for a prestigious designation, but simply because we strive to leave our planet in as good a condition as we found it. The Hacienda, our 10,000-square-foot hospitality residential villa will utilize solar cells and small wind turbines to generate electricity. The Hacienda will voluntarily use green energy connectivity and be completely off the grid. In addition, it will also reduce its heating and cooling load by 50% via walls of insulated concrete forms and E2-coated glass windows.

We sincerely hope you decide to join us at The Preserve at La Ballena. Our gorgeous beaches, dramatic interior lands, perfect year-round weather and authentic luxury are all as close as a 1.5-hour flight from LAX. To give you a proper welcome, we'd like to personally extend an invitation to come stay in The Hacienda and experience what The Preserve at La Ballena is all about.
