Incubation Grants for Hispanic Technology Entrepreneurs
San Jose

The Institute for International Business Development (IIBD) of the Greater San Jose Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GSJHCC) has been awarded a grant under the USHCC Foundation's CasaCyber Small Business Incubation & Technology Grant Program underwritten by the AT&T Foundation to help incubate Hispanic-owned startups. To that end, the IIBD and The Enterprise Network of Silicon Valley (TEN), the largest business accelerator of technology startups on the West Coast, will launch the Silicon Valley CasaCyber Community Technology Center, where entrepreneurs and small businesses will be able to access resources such as computers, access to the Internet, office space, business-related services and a network of business-related contacts. The initial incubation grants will provide the entrepreneurs with these resources for one year, but not with seed money. The incubation grants are directly assisting Hispanic Small Businesses to address the under-representation of Hispanic entrepreneurs in technology fields. Recipients will be selected through a competitive application process, developed and managed by the IIBD, open to Hispanic entrepreneurs in the Bay Area. The IIBD, TEN and the GSJHCC will help the entrepreneurs to implement, manage and sustain the projects and begin to grow businesses that will be able to contribute to the economic stability, growth and success of the community.
