Responsible for Corporate Accounting functions for assigned entities: Shorenstein Company LLC ("SCLLC"), Shorenstein Realty Services, L.P. ("SRS"), Shorenstein Realty Services East LLC ("SRS East") and Shorenstein Management, Inc. ("SMI").

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Ensures accurate and complete maintenance of cash, accrual and tax books.
• Posts and monitors all journal entries booked to the General Ledger in an accurate and timely manner. Closes general ledger (cash, accrual and tax books) an accurate and timely manner.
• Completes monthly reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts in an accurate and timely manner.
• Performs thorough and complete analysis of department financials, discusses with management and evaluates cost/effectiveness and other business issues demonstrating a thorough understanding of area of responsibility.
• Promptly responds to inquiries from internal clients and external contacts and follows through to ensure resolution.
• Assists in the preparation of tax work paper packages to be delivered to external tax advisors performing all tasks in an accurate and timely manner.
• Maintains current property tax files and initiates real estate tax payments in an accurate and timely manner.
• Assists in the preparation of annual budgets, monthly forecast, variance reporting, and partnership analysis for assigned departments performing all tasks in an accurate and timely manner.
• Reviews and processes allocations for corporate support and other billable services in an accurate and timely manner.
• Processes distribution requests in an accurate and timely manner.
• Updates Fixed Asset System ("FAS") for all assets on assigned entity's accrual books on a monthly basis in an accurate and timely manner.
• Completes accurate and complete stand-alone audit packages within established timeframe and provides timely, complete and accurate responses to external auditors questions or requests for information.
• Assists in the preparation of designated sections of the SCLLC consolidated financial statements, including footnotes, and responds to questions from external auditors performing all tasks in an accurate and timely manner.
• Bills all revenue, including transactions fees, quarterly due diligence fee, etc. in an accurate and timely manner.
• Pays all mortgage payments, interest on notes payable, and SRS allocation in an accurate and timely manner. Submits accurate wire transfer requests to Treasury in a timely manner.
• Identifies well thought out process improvements while maintaining appropriate financial controls.
• Maintains internal controls for key processes.

Requirements:
• Essential Skills & Qualifications:
• General working knowledge of accounting issues, procedures and practices.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities to conclusion.
• Ability to respond to changing and sometimes ambiguous situations.
• Demonstrates sound and accurate judgment.
Professional oral and written communication skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, or documents with a similar degree of complexity. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to effectively resolve problems that balance multiple needs and interests.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of factors in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to choose among alternatives when completing work. Work is periodically reviewed by management at key intervals for advise/guidance prior to completion.

Education/Experience:
• Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Accounting or related field from a four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 4 years accounting experience. Experience with a national accounting firm and/or real estate investment/commercial property management highly desirable.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Certified Public Accountant (C.P.A.) designation required.
