Training Instructor
Job Description:
The Training Instructor acts as the District’s primary liaison between
the Service Development and Operations departments; consults with staff of both
departments; and ensures the coordination of shared projects and functions.
Education/Experience:
Equivalent to the completion of the 12th grade. A minimum of five (5) years driving
Class A or B vehicles, including a minimum of two (2) years as a fixed-route
Bus Operator for an agency equivalent to the AC Transit District.
Licensing Requirements:
Must possess and maintain a valid California Class A or B Driver license with
both Passenger and Air Brake endorsements; and must successfully
complete and pass the prescribed Instructor’s Course, both classroom and
behind-the-wheel.
Desirable Qualifications:
(1) Extended education above high school level, with college course work or a
college degree In employee training and development, psychology and/or human
relations
(2) Possession of a U.S. Department of Transportation Instructor’s Course
in Bus Operator Training Certificate
(3) Possession of a State of California Administrative Services Division of DMV
Employer Testing Program Training Certificate, and California DMV authorized
representative Certified Driver for DL170
(4) Possession of an American
Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED authorized
instructor card; and
(5) Experience as a Line Instructor with AC Transit,
or equivalent route-and-schedule Training Instructor for fixed-route Bus
Operators.
Salary Range: $5,078 - $6,058/month (Supplemental
Questionnaire must also be completed)
