Neighborhood Services Coordinator
The City of Oakland is
currently recruiting to fill a Neighborhood Services Coordinator vacancy with
the Oakland Police Department. Under the supervision of the Neighborhood Services
Manager, you will coordinate and provide crime prevention and problem solving
services in support of community-policing efforts, interact with people from
diverse cultural, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds, and often deal with issues
that are politically or socially sensitive. You will have substantial autonomy
conducting your duties and must exercise good judgment and planning at all times.
Experience/Skills:
Four years of progressively responsible work experience in community-based
projects or crime prevention programs involving extensive contact with the public.
Strong problem solving, decision making, public speaking and writing skills,
excellent interpersonal skills, and Spanish-speaking skills are essential.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
in Public Administration or a closely related field. Experience may substitute
for education.
Salary:
$4,380-$5,255/month plus excellent
benefit package (37.5 hour work week)
