Deputy Clerk of the Board
Office of the Clerk of the Board
DUTIES:
To supervise staff in the Clerk of the Board office in providing
administrative support for meetings and activities of the District’s
elected Board of Directors, associated commissions and committees; to
serve as the Clerk of the Board in their absence; and to perform other
related duties as requested.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Four years of increasingly responsible administrative or secretarial
support experience including some experience in taking and transcribing
minutes and Training: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.
Additional specialized training in office administration or a related
field is desirable.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
Possession of a valid Notary Public Certification within 12 months of
hire. Working knowledge of State law regarding Public records Act, Brown
Act, Political reform Act, the Government Code, proficiency in typing,
Dictaphone, Microsoft Word/Windows, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet
Explorer is desirable. This position will be required to work Monday
through Friday and ability to work such hours as are necessary to
accomplish the job requirements and attend evening, weekend, and
out-of-town meetings and seminars during work and non-work hours, as
needed. Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid
California driver’s license may be required with determinations made on
a case-by-case basis. Prior to appointment, candidates will be required
to successfully complete a medical examination.
SALARY:
$6,442.80 - $7,848.53 per month—Based on a five-step salary plan
Includes District payment of 8% PERS—Public Employees’ Retirement
System
